This 8th edition of FITS is organized under the auspices of the World Tourism Organisation, UNESCO, and the International Organisation of Social and Solidarity Tourism.

FITS 2019 has for theme the deserts and oases tourism, as a vector for sustainable development and to raise awareness on climate change.

The first aim of this FITS is to strengthen the advocacy in favor of the safeguarding of oases of the world.
